(Nehemiah 3:1-2, NIV11)
[1] Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt the Sheep Gate. They dedicated it and set its doors in place, building as far as the Tower of the Hundred, which they dedicated, and as far as the Tower of Hananel.

[2] The men of Jericho built the adjoining section, and Zakkur son of Imri built next to them.

(Nehemiah 4:6, NIV11)
So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart.

🕊️ “Delegation of Work – Building Together in One Vision”

📖 Nehemiah 3:1–2; 4:6; 6:15

1️⃣ Introduction – Participating in God’s Work in the Same Vision

Nehemiah reminds us that God’s work is not an individual effort—it’s a shared calling.
Just as God worked through the three major returns from exile, He is still at work today restoring broken areas of our lives.

  • Zerubbabel rebuilt the temple → restoring worship.

  • Ezra restored the Word → restoring faith.

  • Nehemiah rebuilt the walls → restoring character and community.

God is now calling us to participate in His work of restoration—in our hearts, our families, our churches, and our communities.

Key Question:
How is God working in my life/my home right now?
How is God working in our church and ranch as a community of faith right now?
How is God building the kingdom of God in my life?

What is God's vision for us as a community of faith in the Western Frontier?
What does "same vision" mean to us?

2️⃣ Delegation and Unity in the Same Vision

Text: Nehemiah 3:1–2 / 4:6 / 6:15

Nehemiah and the Jews of Jerusalem had the same vision, and in Nehemiah 3, we see them uniting around the same vision of rebuilding the wall to accomplish a specific goal: to increase the defense of Jerusalem.

Nehemiah didn’t build the wall alone—he delegated and trusted others.
Thirty-nine teams worked side by side, each taking responsibility for a section.
From priests to merchants, from rulers to servants—everyone’s effort mattered equally.

Good leadership isn’t about doing everything yourself. It’s about building unity through delegation and trust.

That’s why Nehemiah could finish the wall in just 52 days—because the people worked with all their hearts toward one vision.

“The people worked with all their heart.” (Nehemiah 4:6)
“So the wall was completed in fifty-two days.” (Nehemiah 6:15)

Key Questions:
Where are my defenses down in my life?
Where are my defenses down in my home and church life?
Where are my defenses down in my work and academic life?

In what areas do I need to delegate or accept delegation?
What are the areas where I'm really putting my heart and soul into right now?
What is my understanding and participation in the one-on-one ministry and co-parenting of the church?

3️⃣ Key Reflection /

  • How is God working in my life and my family right now?

  • What part of God’s work is He calling me to participate in?

  • What responsibility is He asking me to take—or to share with others?

  • How can I build unity with others in my church and community?

  • 🕊️ Sermon: Delegation of Work – Building Together in One Vision

    📖 Nehemiah 3:1–2; 4:6; 6:15
(Part 1 – Participating in God’s Work in the Same Vision)

Introduction: God’s Work Requires Many Hands

When God works in history, He rarely works through one person alone.
Instead, He calls His people to join together in one vision, to build something greater than themselves.

The Book of Nehemiah begins with a broken city, a discouraged people, and a man of prayer. Nehemiah didn’t begin by complaining or commanding—he began by praying and trusting that God would move.

As we saw in Nehemiah chapter 1, he prayed for four months before taking one step. His tears and fasting prepared the way for God’s answer. Then, in chapter 2, he received permission from the king and the favor of God’s “good hand.”

Now, in chapter 3, the vision becomes reality. It’s no longer just a dream in Nehemiah’s heart—it becomes a shared mission among God’s people.

    1. Participating in God’s Work in the Same Vision

Throughout the Old Testament, we see three key “returns from exile.”
Each return represents a step in God’s restoration process:

    • Under Zerubbabel, the people rebuilt the temple — restoring worship.

    • Under Ezra, they restored the Word — renewing faith.

    • Under Nehemiah, they rebuilt the walls — restoring character and community.

Worship restores our relationship with God.
The Word restores our understanding of truth.
But rebuilding the walls—rebuilding our character—shows that our faith is now lived out in daily life.

Even today, God calls us to rebuild what is broken:
broken hearts, broken families, broken friendships, broken faith communities.
The same God who worked through Nehemiah is working through you.

    So let us ask:

“How is God working in my life and family right now?”
“How is God working in our church as a community of faith?”

When we see the world through God’s vision, we begin to see not what is lost—but what can be restored.

    2. Delegation and Unity in the Same Vision

    Nehemiah was not a superhero.
He was an ordinary man who knew how to pray, plan, and delegate.

In Nehemiah chapter 3, we find one of the most beautiful pictures of unity in the Bible.
The phrase “next to them” appears more than thirty times.
That means people stood shoulder to shoulder, each doing their part.

“Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests rebuilt the Sheep Gate.” (Nehemiah 3:1)
“Next to them the men of Jericho built…” (Nehemiah 3:2)

From priests to merchants, from nobles to servants, from fathers to daughters—everyone joined the work.

Leadership, in God’s design, is not about control; it’s about empowering others.
Nehemiah trusted people to build, and in return, the people trusted God with their effort.

    The result?

“The people worked with all their heart.” (Nehemiah 4:6)
“So the wall was completed in fifty-two days.” (Nehemiah 6:15)

Fifty-two days! A miracle of collaboration.
When people share the same vision, God multiplies their effort.

Young people today often face pressure to do everything alone—to prove themselves by achievement or comparison.
But the church is not a place of competition.
It’s a place of collaboration—where your small effort, your prayer, your service, your encouragement—becomes part of something eternal.

Your small stone builds the great wall of God’s kingdom.

    3. Application: Building Together

    In our families:
→ Rebuild broken communication. Listen before you speak.

    In our church:
→ Encourage one another instead of comparing. Serve where you are.

    In your personal life:
→ Be faithful in small things. Do your part well, even if no one notices.

Nehemiah didn’t just manage a project—he inspired people to believe that their work mattered to God.
And when we believe that, our ordinary work becomes holy work.

    4. Challenge for This Week

Let’s reflect and pray this week:

    • What part of God’s work am I called to do right now?

    • What responsibilities is God asking me to take—or to entrust to others?

    • How can I build unity in my home, school, or church?

Next week, we’ll look at “Removing Obstacles: Rubble”—how God helps us clear away the fears, discouragements, and inner struggles that keep us from finishing His work.

But for today, let’s begin by standing in the same vision—each person, each heart, each hand working together.

Conclusion: God’s Hand and Our Faithfulness

Nehemiah’s wall was not just stone and mortar—it was faith in motion.
And God is still building through those who say, “Here I am, Lord. Use me.”

When we take our place in His vision, God’s good hand rests upon us, just as it did upon Nehemiah.
Let us rise, serve, and build—together, for the glory of God.

“The God of heaven will give us success; we His servants will arise and build.”
    (Nehemiah 2:20)

🙏 Prayer for Determination and Dedication

I encourage you to tell the Lord what you have decided to commit to in your life as you listen to today's message and pray to Him for help.

Lord, You are the builder of all things.
You call us to rise and build—not with our strength, but with Your Spirit.
We confess that at times we have watched the work instead of joining it,
and we have doubted the small part You entrusted to us.

Today, we renew our hearts before You.
Give us courage to take responsibility for the work You’ve placed in our hands.
Help us to serve faithfully, not for recognition, but for Your glory.
Teach us to trust Your timing, to work with others in unity,
and to find joy in building what lasts forever.

When challenges come, let us not grow weary.
May Your good hand strengthen our determination
so that our lives, our homes, and our church
become living testimonies of Your kingdom.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
