[8] 또 왕실 숲을 맡아 보는 아삽에게도, 나무를 공급하라고 친서를 내리셔서, 제가 그 나무로 성전 옆에 있는 성채 문짝도 짜고, 성벽도 쌓고, 소신이 살 집도 짓게 하여 주시기 바랍니다. " 나의 하나님이 선하신 손길로 나를 잘 보살펴 주셔서, 왕이 나의 청을 들어주었다.

[8] And may I have a letter to Asaph, keeper of the royal park, so he will give me timber to make beams for the gates of the citadel by the temple and for the city wall and for the residence I will occupy?” And because the gracious hand of my God was on me, the king granted my requests.

🟩 1. 하나님의 도우심을 받는 삶

“또 하나는, 성전 곁에 있는 성의 문짝을 만들고, 성벽을 쌓고, 내가 머물 집을 짓는 데 쓸 목재를 주도록 왕의 산림감독 아삽에게 조서를 내려 주시기 바랍니다.”
내 하나님께서 은혜롭게 나를 돌보아 주셨기 때문에, 왕은 나의 청을 들어 주었다.
“I also ask that you send a letter to Asaph, who is in charge of the royal grove, to provide wood so that I can use it to make the doors of the castle next to the temple, to build the wall, and to build a house for my soul.
My God looked after me with a kind hand, and the king listened to my request.”
묵상 / Reflection:
Nehemiah’s story reminds us that God’s hand is always active behind the scenes.
Even when the task seems impossible, God works through small prayers, humble faith, and quiet obedience.
🙏 하나님의 손이 함께하실 때, 작은 헌신도 큰 역사를 만듭니다.
When God’s hand is with you, even small steps of faith create great works.
🟦 2. 창조의 목적 / The Purpose of Creation

창세기 1:28 / Genesis 1:28
“하나님이 그들에게 복을 주시며 말씀하시기를 ‘생육하고 번성하여 땅에 충만하라. 땅을 정복하라. 바다의 물고기와 공중의 새와 땅 위에서 움직이는 모든 생물을 다스리라.’”
“God blessed them. God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’”
이사야 43:21 / Isaiah 43:21
“이 백성은 내가 나를 위하여 지은 백성이다. 그들은 나를 찬양할 것이다.”
“This people is the people I created for myself. They will praise me.”
묵상 / Reflection:
God created us not for worldly success but for divine purpose — to reflect His image and praise His name.
True blessing comes when our daily life fulfills His purpose: being fruitful, faithful, and filled with gratitude.
🌿 우리는 하나님의 영광을 위해 지음받았고, 작은 순종 속에서 그 목적을 이룹니다.
We were created for God’s glory, and we live out that purpose through small daily obedience.
🟧 3. 작은 순종 / Little Obedience
본문 / Texts:
마태복음 25:21 / Matthew 25:21 (새번역 / New Translation)
“주인이 그에게 말하였다. ‘잘하였다. 착하고 충성된 종아. 네가 작은 일에 충성하였으니, 내가 너에게 많은 일을 맡기겠다. 주인의 기쁨을 함께 누리자.’”
“His master said to him, ‘Well done! Good and faithful servant. Since you have been faithful over a few things, now I will put you in charge of many things. Come and enjoy yourselves with your master.’”
히브리서 12:1–2 / Hebrews 12:1–2
“이러므로 우리에게 구름같이 둘러싼 많은 증인들이 있으니, 모든 무거운 짐과 얽매이기 쉬운 죄를 벗어 버리고, 인내로써 우리 앞에 놓인 경주를 달리자.
믿음의 주요 또 온전하게 하시는 이인 예수를 바라보자. 그는 그 앞에 있는 기쁨을 위하여 십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 아니하시더니, 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉으셨느니라.”
“Therefore, since so many witnesses surround us like a cloud, let us throw off every burden and the sin that entangles us, and run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
묵상 / Reflection:
God honors small obedience.
Nehemiah’s faith, though small, was faithful. He prayed, acted wisely, and trusted God’s timing.
In the same way, our small steps of obedience — a prayer, a kind act, a decision to forgive — become part of God’s greater story.
🌸 하나님은 우리의 ‘작은 믿음’을 통해 ‘큰 일’을 이루신다.
God accomplishes great things through our small steps of faith.
💬 결론 / Conclusion
Every great work of God begins with a small step of faith.
Nehemiah prayed, obeyed, and trusted God’s hand — and history changed.
You may feel your faith is small, but God delights in using small faith to fulfill His big purposes.
🌿 “내가 심은 것은 작으나, 하나님께서 자라게 하신다.”
“I planted the seed, but God made it grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:6)
Let us walk humbly, step by step, trusting that the gracious hand of God is upon us.
