은혜와 평강이 넘치는 예배 되기를
May Grace and Peace Overflow
사랑하는 성도 여러분, 은혜와 평강이 넘치는 주일 되기를 바랍니다.
지난 주일, 우리는 이렇게 배웠습니다. "우리의 새로운 시작은 우리의 계획이 아니라, 성령님의 인도하심에서 나옵니다." 오순절에 교회를 시작하신 그 성령이, 오늘은 한 걸음 더 나아가 어떤 일을 하시는지 살펴보겠습니다.
Dear brothers and sisters, may grace and peace overflow in you this Lord's Day.
Last Sunday, we learned this: "Our new beginnings come not from our own plan, but from the Spirit's guidance." Today, we go one step further to see what that same Spirit — who began the church at Pentecost — continues to do.

혼자 감당하는 짐
A Burden Carried Alone
오늘 본문은 민수기 11장입니다. 여느 때 같았으면 이 본문을 처음부터 끝까지 자세히 살펴보았을 것입니다. 기회가 되면 다시 깊이 다뤄보겠습니다. 오늘은 흐름만 간단히 짚겠습니다.
모세는 백성을 이끄는 짐이 너무 무거워 하나님께 이렇게 토로합니다. "이 모든 백성을 저 혼자 감당할 수 없습니다."
저는 이 구절 앞에서 저 자신을 먼저 돌아보게 됩니다. 목회자가 흔들리는 것은, 그것이 탈진이든 영성의 메마름이든, 참으로 안타까운 일입니다. 그런데 다른 대안이 없습니다.
저 자신에게 묻습니다. 지금 저는 영적으로 번아웃 상태입니까? 저의 큐티 시간과 새벽 개인 기도 시간은 정상적입니까, 아닙니까? 성도 여러분도 이미 느끼고 계실 것입니다. 여러분의 목회자가 지금 어떤 상태인지 말입니다.
저는 여전히 부족한 사람입니다. 그럼에도 하나님의 은혜와, 여러분의 따뜻함과 관대함이 저를 붙들어 주고 있습니다.
그리고 이것이 바로 모세가 서 있던 자리이기도 합니다. 그런데 하나님의 응답은 "더 견뎌라"가 아니었습니다.
Today's passage is Numbers 11. On another occasion, I would have walked through this whole chapter in detail — and I hope to do that another time. Today, I'll simply trace its outline.
Moses cries out to God that the burden of leading the people is too heavy: "I cannot carry all these people by myself."
This verse turns me first toward my own heart. It's genuinely sad when a pastor falters — whether through burnout or spiritual dryness. And yet there's no real alternative but to be honest about it.
So I ask myself: Am I spiritually burned out right now? Is my time in QT and early morning prayer healthy, or not? You have likely already sensed, in some way, what state your pastor is in.
I am still a lacking person. And yet God's grace, and your warmth and generosity, hold me up.
This is exactly the place where Moses stood. But God's answer to him was not, "endure a little longer."

신약의 실현
Fulfilled in the New Testament
이 일이 신약에서 구체적으로 실현됩니다.
"온 무리가 이 말을 기뻐하여, 믿음과 성령이 충만한 사람 스데반과 빌립을 택하여."
— 사도행전 6:5
"빌립이 사마리아 성에 내려가 그리스도를 백성에게 전파하니, 무리가 빌립의 말도 듣고 그 행하는 표적도 보고 한마음으로 그가 하는 말을 따르더라."
— 사도행전 8:5-6
사도가 아닌 집사, 스데반과 빌립에게도 성령이 충만했습니다. 민수기의 그림이 실제 역사가 된 것입니다. 저는 이 구체적인 실현이, 옛날이야기로만 남지 않고 오늘 우리 가운데서도 일어나기를 바랍니다.
This became a concrete reality in the New Testament.
"This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip..."
— Acts 6:5
"Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there. When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said."
— Acts 8:5-6
Stephen and Philip — deacons, not apostles — were filled with the Spirit. The picture in Numbers became living history. I hope this concrete fulfillment doesn't remain an ancient story, but happens again among us today.

I Long for This Too
빌립에게 임하셨던 성령이, 저에게도 임하기를 사모합니다. 하나님께서 저를 마음껏 사용하시는 삶을 살겠습니다.
I long for the same Spirit that came upon Philip to come upon me as well. I will live a life fully used by God.
"새 일은 소수의 지도자가 아니라,
공동체 전체를 통해 흩어져 세워집니다."
"New work is raised up not through a few leaders,
but through the whole community, scattered and sent."
이것은 멀리서 감탄할 일반적 진리가 아닙니다. 저 자신의 결단이고, 여러분 각자의 결단이어야 합니다. 나는 하나님이 어디서 어떻게 쓰시든, 기꺼이 쓰임받고자 합니까?
10월부터는, 성령께서 세우시는 목자들이 하나씩 나타날 것입니다. 캠퍼스 처치와 하우스 처치를 섬길 목자들을 이번 가을 동안 세워가려 합니다.
This is not a general truth to admire from a distance. It is my own decision, and it must be each of yours as well. Am I willing to be used by God, wherever and however he chooses?
Starting in October, shepherds raised up by the Spirit will emerge one by one. We'll be raising up shepherds to serve our Campus Church and House Church throughout this fall.
저희 부부는 이번 주 월요일부터 토요일까지, 북미지역 가정교회 목회자 컨퍼런스에 다녀옵니다. 이런 자리는 목회자 부부에게 실제로 큰 힘이 됩니다. 함께 기도해 주시기 바랍니다.

빌립에게 임하셨던 그 성령이 우리 각 사람에게도 임하여, 하나님께서 마음껏 쓰시는 삶을 살게 하소서.
예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My wife and I will be away this week, Monday through Saturday, at the North America house church pastors' conference. Gatherings like this truly strengthen a pastoral couple. Please pray for us.
Though we'll be away from the church that week, I am not worried about you. In fact, I hope this becomes a time when each of you begins something new together with the Spirit.
