제목: 서로 영광을 주고 받지 않는다

본문: 요한복음 5:38-47

(요 5:38-47) “「38」 또 그 말씀이 너희 속에 머물러 있지도 않다. 그것은 너희가, 그분이 보내신 이를 믿지 않기 때문이다.

「39」 너희가 성경을 연구하는 것은, 영원한 생명이 그 안에 있다고 생각하기 때문이다. 성경은 나에 대하여 증언하고 있다.

「40」 그런데 너희는 생명을 얻으러 나에게 오려고 하지 않는다.

「41」 나는 사람에게서 영광을 받지 않는다.

「42」 너희에게 하나님을 사랑하는 마음이 없는 것도, 나는 알고 있다.

「43」 내가 내 아버지의 이름으로 왔는데, 너희는 나를 영접하지 않는다. 그러나 다른 이가 자기 이름으로 오면 너희는 그를 영접할 것이다.

「44」 너희는 서로 영광을 주고받으면서 오직 한 분이신 하나님께서 주시는 영광은 구하지 않으니, 어떻게 믿을 수 있겠느냐?

「45」 내가 너희를 아버지께 고발하리라고는 생각하지 말아라. 너희를 고발하는 이는 너희가 희망을 걸어온 모세이다.

「46」 너희가 모세를 믿었더라면 나를 믿었을 것이다. 모세가 나를 두고 썼기 때문이다.

「47」 그러나 너희가 모세의 글을 믿지 않으니, 어떻게 내 말을 믿겠느냐?"”.

(요 5:38-47, ESV) “「38」 and you do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe the one whom he has sent.

「39」 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,

「40」 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

「41」 I do not receive glory from people.

「42」 But I know that you do not have the love of God within you.

「43」 I have come in my Father's name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.

「44」 How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

「45」 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope.

「46」 For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me.

「47」 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?"”

(요 5:38-47, MSG) “「38」 There is nothing left in your memory of his Message because you do not take his Messenger seriously.

「39」 "You have your heads in your Bibles constantly because you think you'll find eternal life there. But you miss the forest for the trees. These Scriptures are all about me!

「40」 And here I am, standing right before you, and you aren't willing to receive from me the life you say you want.

「41」 "I'm not interested in crowd approval.

「42」 And do you know why? Because I know you and your crowds. I know that love, especially God's love, is not on your working agenda.

「43」 I came with the authority of my Father, and you either dismiss me or avoid me. If another came, acting self-important, you would welcome him with open arms.

「44」 How do you expect to get anywhere with God when you spend all your time jockeying for position with each other, ranking your rivals and ignoring God?

「45」 "But don't think I'm going to accuse you before my Father. Moses, in whom you put so much stock, is your accuser.

「46」 If you believed, really believed, what Moses said, you would believe me. He wrote of me.

「47」 If you won't take seriously what he wrote, how can I expect you to take seriously what I speak?"”

(요 17:5) “아버지, 창세 전에 내가 아버지와 함께 누리던 그 영광으로, 나를 아버지 앞에서 영광되게 하여 주십시오.”

(요 17:10) “나의 것은 모두 아버지의 것이고, 아버지의 것은 모두 나의 것입니다. 나는 그들로 말미암아 영광을 받았습니다.”

(요 17:22) “나는 아버지께서 내게 주신 영광을 그들에게 주었습니다. 그것은, 우리가 하나인 것과 같이, 그들도 하나가 되게 하려는 것입니다.”

(엡 1:6, 12, 새번역) “「6」 그래서 하나님이 하나님의 사랑하시는 아들 안에서 우리에게 거저 주신 하나님의 영광스러운 은혜를 찬미하게 하셨습니다.

「12」 그것은 그리스도께 맨 먼저 소망을 둔 우리로 하여금 하나님의 영광을 찬미하는 사람이 되게 하시려는 것이었습니다.”

(2Co 4:6, ESV) “For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

(2Co 4:6, MSG) “It started when God said, "Light up the darkness!" and our lives filled up with light as we saw and understood God in the face of Christ, all bright and beautiful.”
